Sophomore linebacker Kaden Elliss was honored by the Sun Belt Conference as the league's Defensive Player of the Week after Idaho's overtime victory at UNLV last Saturday.
Elliss scored the first touchdown of the game when he returned an interception 31 yards in the first quarter. He had a second interception, which thwarted a UNLV drive into Idaho territory when he picked off the ball at the Vandals' 34-yard line. He added a pass breakup and three tackles – two solo and one assist.
The interceptions were the first of Elliss' career. He is Idaho's fifth-leading tackler through four games with a total of 23 (14 solo and nine assists).
