GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Idaho Vandals (2-0) defeated the University of North Dakota (0-1), 1-0, to begin the season 2-0 and sweep both North Dakota schools. Maddie Haas scored the early goal for the Vandals. This is the first time Idaho has started a season 2-0 since 2007.
In the sixth minute, Maya Hamilton drove the ball into the box, where the UND keeper was forced into a save. The Fighting Hawk defense was unable to clear the ball, and Maddie Haas pounced on it, scoring a goal to put the Vandals up, 1-0.
