PULLMAN, Wash.—Idaho's opening draw at the WSU Cougar Challenge began with a marathon first set. The Vandals and George Washington Colonials extended play all the way to 32-20, seeing the opposition take set on its way to a 3-0 sweep of the Vandals.
Action was neck and neck to start the morning on Friday. Neither team had more than a five point lead until George Washington went up 22-17. Idaho chipped into that lead with a 3-0 run with help from a Becca Mau ace and a Sarah Sharp kill, making the deficit 23-21.
