Big Sky Basketball to shorten conference season

The Big Sky Conference (BSC) announced that the conference season will be shortened to a 16-game season for 2020-2021 in a press release.

Each school has the choice to replace the four-conference games with non-conference games. The BSC season will tip-off on or after New Year’s Eve.

“This one-year adjustment to our conference basketball schedules is an appropriate measure that delivers significant cost savings to our member institutions while providing our basketball programs with more flexibility in their non-conference scheduling,” BSC Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said in a press release. “I applaud our schools’ leaders for striking the right balance between providing opportunities for our student-athletes to compete while recognizing the need to make changes for the upcoming year.
