Tottenham hero Micky Hazard will show Ryan Mason a video of White Hart Lane in rapturous applause when he visits him in hospital on Sunday.
Mason, who had emergency surgery last Sunday after suffering a fractured skull against Chelsea, was spotted at the age of six by former Spurs midfielder Hazard at one of his summer soccer schools. He then took Mason to Spurs, where he played until he left for Hull last summer.
Hazard spoke about Mason on the pitch at White Hart Lane on Saturday and recorded the reaction on his mobile phone.
Spurs players paid tribute to Mason and Hull captain Michael Dawson said Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson had contacted the midfielder.
