Sunderland have emerged as rivals to Hull in the race to sign Ryan Mason from Tottenham.
Hull have been on Mason's trail for weeks and have already agreed a fee with Spurs of £8million.
The Black Cats are yet to agree a fee with Spurs but have met Mason and agreed to his demands of £40,000 a week.
Hull do not have an agreement with the player but have not given up hope of tempting him to join them.
