Marco Silva is emerging as a managerial target for Southampton should they decide to sack Claude Puel.
Despite leading the Saints to the Capital One Cup final in his first season, Puel’s job is under threat with club chiefs due to decide on his future later this month.
Silva, it is understood, is a name Southampton are considering as they explore potential replacements for the Frenchman. The Portuguese has massively enhanced his reputation since taking over at Hull City in January.

Southampton have started a process of due diligence ahead of a move for Silva and have received glowing reports about his hardline managerial style.
