Mike Phelan not holding any grudges ahead of David Moyes meeting

Mike Phelan has insisted Hull City's relegation clash against Sunderland on Saturday is not a personal grudge between himself and David Moyes.

Hull manager Phelan is set to face Sunderland counterpart Moyes for the first time since being sacked by the Scot at Manchester United.

Having succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as manager at Old Trafford in the summer of 2013, Moyes surprised many within the club by telling Phelan, Ferguson's long-standing and highly respected assistant, that his services would not be required by the new regime.

Moyes was subsequently sacked by United 10 months later, with the team suffering their worst season in a quarter of a century.
