Middlesbrough comfortably navigated past Hull to move up to 13th in the Premier League and further away from the relegation zone.
Gaston Ramirez, who has impressed in recent weeks, took the lead for Boro in the second half when he headed Viktor Fischer's corner past David Marshall.
Hull failed to put up much of a fight and nearly found themselves down to ten men when Jake Livermore, already on a booking, bundled Ramirez to the ground. The scoreline might not suggest it, but it was convincing win.
