McCann hails substitutes after Rovers win

Grant McCann hailed the impact of his substitutes after all three scored in Hull City’s 3-1 comeback win at Bristol Rovers.

With 59 minutes played and the Tigers trailing to James Daly’s second-minute goal, McCann made a triple substitution and brought on Keane Lewis-Potter, Tom Eaves and Regan Slater.

The changes paid instant dividends as Lewis-Potter equalised three minutes later before Eaves set up Slater to put City in front.

Eaves secured the points with a stoppage-time third, and McCann was pleased with the way his side responded to the early setback.

“It was the worst possible start we could have had, conceding in the first minute,” said McCann.
