Magennis Features For Northern Ireland

Josh Magennis’s 2020/21 season officially came to an end on Thursday night when he represented Northern Ireland in an international friendly against Ukraine in Dnipro.

The Hull City forward played just over an hour of the fixture as his country were beaten 1-0, with Oleksandr Zubkov scoring the winner in the tenth minute.

Magennis, who also started in a 3-0 win against Malta last weekend, played up front alongside Niall McGinn before being replaced by Kyle Lafferty in the 61st minute.

Gavin Whyte, who spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan with the Tigers from Cardiff City, came on from the bench for the final ten minutes but couldn’t add to the goal he’d scored in the win against Malta last time out.
