Arsene Wenger gave a classic response when quizzed about Alexis Sanchez’s controversial opening goal against Hull City on Saturday – “I didn’t see it!”
Sanchez scored both goals in the 2-0 victory over a battling Tigers at the Emirates Stadium, but his first should not have stood after replays showed him prodding the ball over the line with his hand.
Hull defender Andy Robertson revealed after the game that referee Mark Clattenburg admitted his mistake and apologised to the Tigers team for allowing the goal.
