Mike Phelan believes Hull City supporters should realise their team is performing far better than expected - even though they remain in the bottom three.
The Tigers boss has encouraged the dwindling crowd at the KCOM Stadium to vent their feelings - be it good or bad - but he is also keen to remind fans that very few expected them to make a fight of survival.
Hull remain 18th following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to West Brom, but it is only goal difference keeping them in the relegation zone.



Phelan, whose side were booed off as they trailed 1-0 at half-time, said: ‘Football fans get as frustrated as anyone.
