Will the Houston Texans land DeMeco Ryans? Latest on coaching search

Could one of the first stars in Houston Texans franchise history make his way back to the Bayou City? Given recent reports, such a scenario seems quite possible.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reported Friday that San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans—a beloved figure and team leader during his playing days with the Texans—"has emerged as a top candidate" to fill Houston's head coaching vacancy.

Ryans was the 2006 Defensive Rookie of the Year and a two-time Pro Bowl linebacker with the organization as a player, and he's emerged as one of the NFL's top young assistants since his retirement.
