Why the Houston Texans should celebrate their thoroughly mediocre 2021 season

The 2021-22 Houston Texans finished the season 4-13 and boasting the worst point differential in team history (-172). Despite this profound mediocrity, there is no way to look at the results of this season as anything but a surprising, if tepid, success. The Texans are not the most embarrassing team in the league right now. They’re not even the most embarrassing team in their division, a distinction belonging to the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars.

This might seem too low a bar to set, but Houston fans may want to pop the bubbly—or at least a Miller High Life—and put one up in the win column.
