Whitney Mercilus among group who sat out Texans OTAs with injury

Veteran outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus was among a large group of Texans' players who were sidelined at an organized team activity Tuesday.

However, it's not regarded as anything serious. Mercilus was dressed out for the workout and was able to work out on the side.

Meanwhile Pro Bowl defensive end J.J. Watt didn't practice as he rehabs from offseason groin surgery.

Watt had several core muscles repaired after a season where he was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for a third time.

Watt endured a broken hand last season and still recorded 17 1/2 sacks and 29 tackles for losses to lead the NFL.
