After kicking off the 2010s with their first AFC South Championship and playoff appearance, and falling apart down the stretch in 2012, the Houston Texans spent last decade under the spell of Bill O’Brien consistently winning the AFC South, and forever failing to get past the divisional round. Despite bottoming out in 2013 and 2017, the Texans bounced to at least respectable every year. The 2014 Texans didn’t rebuild. They were a talented team that had a black cat season. The 2017 Texans fell victim to an atrocious pass defense, and a Deshaun Watson injury.
The last two seasons have been entirely different.
