Even with Lovie Smith entrenched as the Texans head coach, there still are questions about whether or not Josh McCown will have a role within the organization. That was never clearer than when the fourth question at Smith's introductory press conference Tuesday was about McCown.
The 42-year-old McCown, who spent 17 years in the NFL mostly as a backup quarterback, has never coached above the high school level, yet he was a finalist for the Texans' head coaching job. He interviewed twice for the gig in January, and also interviewed for the job last year before the Texans hired David Culley.
