The comeback attempt by former NFL and University of Texas quarterback Vince Young has hit a roadblock.
Young was cut by the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday after suffering a torn hamstring during training camp, according to his agent Leigh Steinberg.
Young was expected to be sidelined from four to six weeks.
The former Pro Bowl quarterback hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2011 with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 33-year-old was signed to a one-year contract with a team option for a second season.
A former blue-chip recruit at Madison High School in Houston, Young led the Longhorns to a dramatic national championship victory over USC in the Rose Bowl.
