Two parking attendants at NRG Park in Houston were charged late last week in an embezzlement scheme that generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulent parking payments.
Houston police arrested Reginald Smith in March, charging him with three felonies after he allegedly devised a scheme that generated "$211,000 from people who believed they were making legitimate payments to attend events, including Houston Texans home games," according to KPRC 2 in Houston. On Friday, the same felony charges were filed against Taelor Miller and Vincent Ward, who Houston police have not yet arrested.
The three alleged scammers reportedly used Square card-reading devices to charge NRG Park visitors upon entering various lots, which are different from the NRG Park designated card-swipe systems.
