Damon Arnette’s NFL career seemed to be over when he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. However, Arnette will now have the opportunity to make the Houston Texans’ roster this fall.
Arnette, a 2018 first-round pick from Ohio State, signed a one-year contract with the Texans on Wednesday, as first reported by KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson. Should Arnette make Houston’s Week 1 roster, he will take his first snaps since 2021. The former Las Vegas player was released by Arnette in November 2021 after he was seen threatening someone with a gun, and his comeback attempt in Kansas City ended the following year after his arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
