Texans' Whitney Mercilus named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Texans outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Mercilus recorded two sacks, two forced fumbles, two quarterback hits and two tackles during a 13-12 win over the Jacksonville jaguars.

This marks his second career Player of the Week honor.

He recorded his third sack of the season and has 45 1/2 in his NFL career, which is the third-most in franchise history behind J.
