Texans veteran outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus devotes a lot of time and resources to helping the community.
Through his charitable foundation called "WithMerci," Mercilus is focusing his philanthropic efforts this year on invisible disabilities, including aphasia, apraxia and hearing impairment.
His foundation has raised over $500,000 overall and plans to donate over $100,000 toward invisible disabilities.
Applications for non-profit organizations and schools specializing in those disabilities can partner with Mercilus by applying for foundation grants.
"It is important to me that this year we share our extended family, the children with disabilities, which we get the honor to work with," Mercilus said in a statement.
