The Texans worked out former New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans linebacker Akeem Ayers, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
Ayers is a former Titans second-round pick from UCLA. Ayers has 15.5 career sacks.
They also worked out former Miami Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Sterling Bailey, former Georgia Tech defensive lineman Patrick Gamble, defensive tackle Mike Purcell and former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Jarrod "Chunky" Clements.
