The Texans signed veteran tight end Logan Paulsen, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
Paulsen is regarded as a strong blocker and an outstanding mentor.
Paulsen, 32, was recently cut by the Falcons, where he played last season. He has also played for Washington, Chicago and San Francisco.
The Texans are expected to place two players on injured reserve. Jordan Thomas injured his ribs against the Rams and tight end Kahale Warring is in the NFL concussion protocol.
