NEW ORLEANS - The Texans are signing former New York Jets running back and kick returner Jordan Todman, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.
Todman averaged 29.9 yards per kickoff return last season for the Indianapolis Colts.
Todman is a former San Diego Chargers sixth-round draft pick from Connecticut.
Todman has also played for the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Todman has averaged 26.6 yards on kickoff returns in his career.
The Texans have several injuries at running back, including rookie D'Onta Foreman (groin), veteran Alfred Blue (ankle) and Akeem Hunt (hamstring).
