When the Texans signed running back Lamar Miller to a four-year, $26 million free agent deal last year, they prized his versatility.
That remains the case a year later as Miller has been heavily involved as a receiver out of the backfield. The Pro Bowl alternate has caught 10 passes for 120 yards and one touchdown, ranking second on the offense in catches and yards behind Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Miller has been targeted 11 times, so throwing to him is an extremely effective strategy.
"Some of the routes that we have has always had the same route combinations for the back and the back getting out," Texans quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan said.
