Texans rookie Vyncint Smith catches first NFL touchdown

PHILADELPHIA -- Vyncint Smith tapped his cleats in the back of the Philadelphia Eagles' end zone in the fourth quarter Sunday as he caught the football.

The undrafted rookie wide receiver from Limestone College was confident that it was a touchdown, and an instant replay review upheld the 35-yard score that briefly gave the Texans the lead in the final minutes of a 32-30 loss at Lincoln Financial Field.

Filling in for veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas when the five-time Pro Bowl selection ruptured his Achilles, Smith caught the first touchdown of his NFL career.
