Texans reach injury settlement with corner Richard Leonard

The Texans brokered a a $176,294 injury settlement with rookie cornerback Richard Leonard when they removed the undrafted player from their injured reserve list.

It's the equivalent of nine weeks salary at the rate of $333,000.

The Texans are now $9.715 million under the NFL salary-cap limit. That includes their recent $760,000 contract for defensive end Alex Carrington that has a salary-cap figure of $600,000 under the minimum salary benefit for veteran players and an injury waiver.
