Texans HC Bill O’Brien told reporters on Wednesday that Qn T.J. Yates will continue to start for the team in Week 16 against the Steelers.
Though O’Brien did not officially rule out QB Tom Savage for the remainder of the regular season, he indicated that Savage is “ways off” in terms of being cleared under the NFL concussion protocol.
Yates, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Texans back in 2011. He spent three years in Houston before he was traded to the Falcons for Akeem Dent.
