Texans' Max Scharping leads team in performance-based pay

Texans rookie offensive guard Max Scharping led the AFC South champions with a $257,393 performance-based pay bonus.

NFL players will receive $147.952 million in performance-based pay for the 2019 season. It's a collectively-bargained benefit compensating all players, including rookies, based on playing time and salary levels.

There was also another $83.2 million in benefits, $2.6 million per team, for a veteran performance based pay.
