Texans LT Brown carted off with knee injury

HOUSTON -- Texans left tackle Duane Brown was carted off the field after suffering a right knee injury in the first quarter of Sunday's regular-season finale.

The Texans announced that Brown will not return to the game. Houston's sideline emptied as teammates went to see off Brown, who was helped onto a cart that took him to the locker room. Brown had tears in his eyes as he left the field.

Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler, has been the Texans' left tackle since the organization drafted him in 2008. He is the longest-tenured player on the team and one of only a handful of Texans starters who were also starters in 2012, the last year the Texans made the playoffs.
