Texans hire new offensive coordinator as DeMeco Ryans shapes staff

The Houston Texans continued to add to head coach DeMeco Ryans's coaching staff Sunday as they reportedly hired former 49ers offensive passing game coordinator Bobby Slowik as their offensive coordinator

Slowik, 35, sports an 11-year resume as an NFL assistant, with stops in Washington and San Francisco. He previously worked as a offensive assistant and defensive quality control coach with the 49ers before working as the passing game coordinator in each of the last two seasons. San Francisco finished No. 6 in points scored in 2022, and Slowik worked in tandem with head coach Kyle Shanahan as the 49ers posted a 13–4 record with three different starting quarterbacks.
