Texans GM Brian Gaine says Lamar Miller to remain starting lead back

INDIANAPOLIS - Although the Texans have been repeatedly linked in speculation about free agent running back Le'Veon Bell, that isn't the reality surrounding their offensive backfield.

The Texans plan to have veteran Pro Bowl running back Lamar Miller remain their lead back in 2019.

"Yes," general manager Brian Gaine said at the NFL scouting combine when asked if Miller is going to be the starter.

Miller is entering the final year of a four-year, $26 million contract and is due a $5.5 million nonguaranteed base salary.

Gaine also expressed optimism that D'Onta Foreman will make a strong return after a rough year last season spent primarily rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon.
