Texans extend Brennan Scarlett after Jadeveon Clowney trade talk

In a surprising move, Brennan Scarlett has gotten his second deal with the Houston Texans before the regular season has even started. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported that Scarlett has agreed to terms a one-year extension after this season that will make him a free agent towards the conclusion of 2020 NFL season.

Scarlett had signed a qualifying offer from the Texans that will pay him approximately $2.25 million for the 2019 season, and he will now earn an additional $3.75 million for the following season. He has been a productive player for the Texans when healthy as he has been able to play at outside and inside linebacker while being a good contributor on special teams.
