The Texans have dismissed outside linebackers coach John Pagano, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Pagano worked for the Texans for the past two seasons and also held the title of senior defensive assistant.
Pagano coached outside linebackers Whitney Mercilus, a Pro Bowl alternate last season, and Jadeveon Clowney, a Pro Bowl selection traded before the season to the Seattle Seahawks.

Pagano was previously an assistant head coach with the Raiders, coaching star pass rusher Khalil Mack, and a defensive coordinator with the Chargers.
Pagano's older brother, Chuck Pagano, is the Chicago Bears' defensive coordinator and a former Indianapolis Colts head coach.
