Texans' DeAndre Hopkins pledges playoff check to aid family of slain girl

Texans All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was emotionally affected by the murder of Jazmine Barnes, a seven-year-old Houston girl who was shot and killed by an unknown gunman.

Police are investigating.

Hopkins announced on his official Twitter account that he is pledging his playoff check for this week's AFC wild-card game against the Indianapolis Colts to assist the family with funeral costs and support the ongoing investigation to apprehend the killer.

"When I see Jazmine Barnes' face, I see my own daughter," Hopkins wrote. "I'm pledging my playoff check this week to help her family with funeral costs and to support@shaunking @SherriffED_HCSO @SylvesterTurner in bringing this man to justice.
