For Texans offensive guard David Quessenberry, it was an especially meaningful moment.
The cancer survivor and teammates Jeff Allen and Ryan Griffin attended a groundbreaking Tuesday of Hope Lodge in Houston, a $30 million American Cancer Society facility that will provide free lodging and support to cancer patients. Built in part by more than $5 million in donations from Texans owners Bob and Janice McNair and over $76,000 from the Texans' charitable foundation, it will be the largest facility of its kind in the country. Bob McNair is a fellow cancer survivor.
"Days like today are special to me and my girlfriend, Megan," said Quessenberry, who's on the Texans practice squad after beating non-Hodgkin's T lymphoblastic lymphoma.
