The Texans cut rookie tight end Evan Baylis from the active roster.

Baylis had been promoted last week from the practice squad. He's eligible to be re-signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Texans needed reinforcements last week with tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz placed on injured reserve with a concussion.

Tight ends Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson are expected to return this week from concussions.

Baylis is an undrafted free agent from Oregon. He caught 44 passes for 511 yards and three touchdowns in 48 career games for the Ducks.
