The Texans cut former Purdue defensive tackle Ra'Zahn Howard, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.
Howard was signed by the Texans after going unselected in the NFL supplemental draft.
He didn't play in the Texans' third preseason game.
The Texans are also cutting rookie offensive tackle Matt Pierson and linebacker Ryan Langford
Howard had 47 career tackles and three sacks with four pass deflections in 24 career games for the Boilermakers.
Meanwhile, the Texans have informed injured wide receiver Josh Lenz that he's not in their future plans.
Like Howard, Lenz didn't play against the Arizona Cardinals
