Texans' Bill O'Brien: Lamar Miller's workload was too heavy early on

INDIANAPOLIS -- One of the biggest questions surrounding running back Lamar Miller after he signed a four-year, $26 million contract with the Houston Texans last offseason was whether he could physically handle more of a workload than he did in his four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

In 2015, Miller averaged 15.1 touches per game. In 2016, he averaged 21.4. Throughout the season, Miller said he took pride in carrying the ball a lot, but on Wednesday at the combine, head coach Bill O’Brien admitted that the Texans probably depended on Miller too much, especially early in the season.
