The reasons behind the Texans' suddenly shaky kicking situation aren't as important as what happens next.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien ascribed the issues to more than just kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn. Fairbairn missed an extra point and a 46-yard field goal during a win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. He leads all NFL kickers with four missed extra points after missing just two last season when the former Lou Groza award winner from UCLA led the NFL in scoring.
Playing under a $3.095 million restricted free agent tender, Fairbairn was reliable in the past.
