Texans area scout Bob Beers plans to retire later this spring, and the veteran talent evaluator spent this week back in his home state of Montana.
The Western regional scout, a former All-American Montana linebacker and offensive line coach who's also scouted for the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions, attended the Montana and Montana State Pro Day workouts.
During this scouting trip, Beers had a lot to watch.
Montana defensive end Tyrone Holmes, a projected 3-4 outside linebacker, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, had a 37 1/2 inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 28 times.
