Free agent safety Justin Reid agreed to a three-year, $31.5 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs that includes $20 million guaranteed on Monday night. Although the deal can't be officially signed until Wednesday, Reid made it all but official when he posted a farewell message to Texans fans on Instagram near midnight.
"Man … where do I begin," Reid wrote. "I’m so lucky to have started my career in Houston. I have so many memories I’ll cherish from the football field to the community. Houston has a special place in my heart and there is no better place that I could have come to as a rookie to learn how to be a better pro and a better man.
