The first play of Johnathan Joseph's 11-season NFL career was a dud.
The Texans' veteran cornerback was a rookie with the Cincinnati Bengals when he lined up across from Washington Redskins receiver Santana Moss in Joseph's first preseason game. He tried to press Moss at the line of scrimmage, and Moss burned him.
"I didn't know if I was cut out for it," Joseph said of his feelings afterward.
Joseph said Houston's upcoming trip to the Bay Area for the preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers will be beneficial for rookies.
The first-year players will get used to traveling with pros, and because the Texans will also practice against San Francisco, the rookies will see how another team prepares.
