J.J. Watt's charity softball game outdrew 13 Houston Astros home games

HOUSTON -- If there's J.J. Watt fatigue around the country, it hasn't hit Houston yet.

More than 30,000 people attended Saturday's J.J. Watt Charity Softball classic at Minute Maid Park, according to Chellee Siewert, who handles the public relations for Watt's Event. That's a Major League Baseball number.

The Houston Astros regularly draw less than that at the same ballpark. A look around baseball delivers the same message: In many markets, major league baseball teams routinely play in front of crowds smaller than the crowd that assembled to watch the Houston Texans offense face the defense in a meaningless, but entertaining and charitable, game of softball.
