BROOKSHIRE - Surrounded by cheering fans, Texans owner Bob McNair smiled as a $750,000 check was presented from the AFC South champions' charitable foundation to Brookwood Community on Tuesday.
On his way out, McNair was stopped by a resident of the residential community and campus that offers job programs for adults with functional disabilities.
"She said, 'I wanted to thank you, you saved my life,'" McNair said. "I said, 'How's that?' She said, 'Well, I didn't have a job, I didn't have any friends. I have a job now. I have friends.' It's wonderful. You don't see anybody unhappy.
