After seeing a bunch of defensive tackles go off the board like Austin Johnson, Chris Jones, A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed, the Texans decided to trade up to draft Notre Dame offensive tackle Nick Martin.
Houston traded spots with the Atlanta Falcons for the 50th pick in the second round and Houston’s sixth-round pick.
Martin, a 6-foot-4, 299-pounder and little brother of Dallas OL Zach Martin, brings versatility with his power and leadership.
