Houston Texans, receiver Brandin Cooks agree to two-year contract extension, source says

HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans have signed wide receiver Brandin Cooks to a two-year contract extension, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Prior to signing the extension, Cooks was owed a $12.5 million base salary in 2022 as part of a deal that was signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 and restructured by Houston last year. Cooks was in the final season of the contract.

Cooks, who has played in at least 14 games in all but his rookie season (2014), has hit the 1,000-receiving-yard mark in six of his eight NFL seasons.
