Shortly thereafter, the Texans fired their general manager, Brian Gaine, and attempted to yank Caserio from New England, only to find out he was still under contract. The New England Patriots filed tampering charges against the Texans. The Texans stopped trying to hire Caserio. Then Bill O’Brien and Jack Easterby went to work to ruin our favorite football team.
Most of the traumatic things from this time period—trading the future for to acquire Laremy Tunsil, trading Jadeveon Clowney for loose change under the couch, trading DeAndre Hopkins for an old expensive running back and a second round pick—all of this can be pointed back to this moment, that fateful summer.
